At Empire Clinic, we believe that the fundamental basis for a successful aesthetic procedure is an in-depth consultation with a skilled qualified practitioner to assess your needs and develop a bespoke personal treatment plan so that you achieve outstanding natural looking results.

HOW IT WORKS

Permanent eyeliner is a safe and natural-looking alternative to the expense and daily routine of applying makeup upon waking in the morning and often times throughout the day. It is a state-of-the-art technique of permanently applying makeup via intradermal micropigmentation. The treatment utilises a 100% single-use, disposable system to introduce quality semi permanent pigments to the skin. Permanent eyeliner can be applied to line both the top and bottom lids, to create a soft look, a dramatic thick line, or anything in between. Properly applied by an experienced technician, permanent makeup will be more natural and realistic in appearance as compared to conventional cosmetics.

Eyeliner – a thin to medium eyeliner with no wing, for your top lid with optional lower lash liner

Winged / Flicked Eyeliner – a thin to medium winged eyeliner on your top lid with optional lower lash liner

Dramatic Eyeliner – a medium to thick dramatic liner for your top lid with optional lower lash liner

Baby eyeliner / Eyelash Enhancement / – a very discreet dotting of pigment on your upper lash line to make lashes look thicker. Optional lower lash liner can be added

Bottom lid eyeliner only – for ladies who only routinely wear bottom liner

Once the process has been explained and you have agreed to the design, you will be required to fill in consent form and medical questionnaire and we take a copy of your ID as per current legislation. Our numbing process is as good as it gets and we only use top of the line topical anaesthetics to maximise your comfort. The permanent makeup process starts once the treated area is numb. Once your new permanent eyeliner is complete you will be given written information on aftercare and the healing process.

TREATMENT STEP BY STEP

Here is some essential information about the treatment and what to expect before, during and after your visit with us.

STEP 1

CONSULTATION

At Empire Clinic, nothing is more important to us than your health, safety and wellbeing. Carmen, our semi permanent makeup expert is medically trained and has 15 years of semi permanent makeup experience so you know you are in the best of hands.During your initial consultation, we discuss in depth what your wants and needs are and make a plan on how we can achieve that for you.

STEP 2

DURING YOUR TREATMENT

Your treatment will begin with discussing the shape and the colour of your preference to ensure a first class result! Everything is discussed and pencilled in prior to starting to ensure that you have total control with the style, colour and shape of your liner. You have the option of whether you want a natural or dramatic result. The permanent makeup process starts once the treated area is fully numb. Once your new permanent eyeliner is complete you will be given written information on aftercare and the healing process.

STEP 3

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

The treatment comes with no downtime so you can enjoy your usual routine as soon as we are done. The recommended aftercare with application of provided ointment should be followed for a week after your initial session to ensure good colour retention. A touch up appointment is advised 4-8 weeks later to further enhance your results.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will it look “natural”?

YES — It will look more natural than your own conventional make-up. Unless you tell somebody you’ve had it applied, they’ll never know. Empire Beauty specialises in “natural-looking” makeup and with an artistic eye will capture the natural beauty of the client.

Does it hurt?

Very little discomfort is experienced during the procedure. In fact, the great majority of clients describe the sensation as a “‘tickling” feeling. The anaesthesia used is of a superior grade and is extremely effective.

How long does a procedure take?

Including the consultation, paperwork, and numbing time, the average length of time for one procedure is approximately 1.5- 2 hours. The second application is usually l hour or less.

I have great difficulty applying my eyeliner. It usually ends up too thick or it ends up uneven. How will the permanent eyeliner look?

Truthfully, it will look sensational. A very conservative approach is used for those who are unsure of width or colour. The second application may be used as an opportunity to add more fullness or colour, if desired. Permanent make-up can be applied very evenly, precisely and smoothly.

What is the healing period like?

Swelling and redness are typically mild to moderate and most people can return to their normal activities immediately after. For approximately 7 days following the procedure, you will need to apply a thin film of ointment to the procedure site. During this healing period, you will notice the colour soften into your skin.

How many applications are needed?

Semi-permanent makeup is a 2-3 step process with most clients requiring 2 sessions for optimal results. However, many of her clients are fully satisfied with just one application. If a second application is needed, it is scheduled 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure.

How long does permanent makeup last?

Semi permanent cosmetics are very long lasting . However, over time, you will notice a gradual softening of colour occurring each year. Many women feel that this is advantageous, as they feel that their permanent makeup will age with them. “Colour boosts” are recommended yearly to those who wish to keep their permanent makeup looking as fresh as possible.

What are the contraindications?

If you are under 18 or pregnant you are not a suitable candidate for this treatment. If you suffer from any of the following conditions you need a GP letter to be considered as a candidate: haemophilia, blood clotting disorders or conditions that require blood-thinning drugs; heart conditions, angina or blood pressure problems; allergies to any anaesthetics metals, latex, topical antibiotic preparations; skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema or dermatitis; diabetes or problems healing; epilepsy, seizures or prone to fainting attacks; any other associated health conditions or medications taken that might interfere with the treatment.
